What to Expect
Your first visit with Dr. Davis will be an initial consultation lasting 90 minutes. Dr. Davis uses Zoom's telehealth platform for video appointments, which offers offers HIPAA-adherent privacy features with an interface that is familiar to many. During the evaluation, you will be asked questions about your current symptoms, your past psychiatric history, your medical history and other relevant information. You are encouraged to be as open as possible so that the most accurate information can be used to make an assessment and guide treatment. If you have past medical or psychiatric records that may be helpful, or copies of laboratory or other test results, it is helpful for Dr. Davis to review them before your first visit. If you are currently seeing another mental health professional such as a psychologist or marriage and family therapist, Dr. Davis will ask for your permission to contact that person so that we may collaborate on your care.
After reviewing your history, Dr. Davis will discuss her impressions with you, make recommendations for treatment, and answer any questions you may have. Recommended treatments may include psychotherapy, medication, or both. Follow up appointments are either 25 or 50 minutes, and frequency may range from weekly to every few months, depending on
your specific situation. Dr. Davis will work with you to determine a plan that meets your needs.
